MaZintle: Reviving Beauty, Empowering Women, Supporting Conservation

Introduction

MaZintle, meaning "Mother of Beauty," is a proudly South African business dedicated to reviving a once-thriving unemployment initiative that empowered women through the creation of unique, handcrafted Sheshwe and Denim products.

Founded by Annamarie Taylor and Nathalie Vanmalleghem, MaZintle brings together a passion for exquisite design, social upliftment, and rhino conservation.

Our Story

The MaZintle story starts with a passion for empowering women and creating beautiful, unique products. The ladies who make these products, were part of an unemployment initiative which started in Welkom in 2015. They were trained in the art of designing and sewing one-of-a-kind Sheshwe and Denim creations. Unfortunately, in 2020, due to Covid, the unemployment initiative closed its doors and the ladies lost their source of income. Some of the equipment was donated to the ladies, but unfortunately they did not have a space to sew
nor the sales support to get the project back on track.

In January 2024, thanks to the generous offer of Morningstar Children's Home, the talented ladies have been given a space to sew and reignite their creative spirit. MaZintle supports these ladies' unemployment initiative by means of stocking, marketing and selling their exquisite creations. Slowly these women are getting back on their feet, creating exceptional handcrafted products and bringing back the beauty you'll love.

• Supporting Rhino Conservation: MaZintle believes in the beauty of nature, and we are proud supporters of the Rhino Project, which is part of the African Conservation Trust.

Twenty percent (20%) of all sales from the Rhino cuddle buddy collection goes directly towards this vital cause, ensuring the future of these magnificent animals.
